In the absence of a Sunday School class to review this week, we'll open the blog to you. How about sharing your favorite Christmas tradition or memory?
One thing that my grandmother always did was to have a "Messiah" get together. We would all dress up, invite neighbors and friends, make lots of yummies and then listen to the ENTIRE Handel's Messiah. As a kid, I just couldn't wait until the cookies. The Hallelujah chorus signaled it was almost time. My last Christmas with my Susu (grandmother) I was an adult and just remember the richness and depth of the gospel being presented through the music. What a wonderful gift she gave us (even though I didn't know it for most of those years).
My fave christmas memory is simply being with my family! I love having a break from whatever is going on w/me and just being with the fam; playing games, watching movies, and eating! My favorite christmas tradition is putting on a nativity play every christmas eve with the family. It was such a fun tradition acting out our rendition of the christmas story with all my sibling!
One of our family's favorite traditions is having a lamb-shaped cake as part of our breakfast on Christmas Day. It signifies the coming of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who came to take away our sins.
